Keith McCall is a public humanities postdoctoral fellow at the Humanities Research Center, where his current research focuses on the history of subsidence, residential flooding, and ecological restoration in the Houston area. A nineteenth-century historian by training, he is also in the process of turning his 2019 dissertation into a manuscript on the migration of freedpeople after the U.S. Civil War.
