Olivia Banner is an assistant professor of Critical Media Studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, where she teaches courses in disability media studies and co-directs Social Practice and Community Engagement Media. Her most recent publication is Communicative Biocapitalism: The Voice of the Patient in Digital Health and the Health Humanities (University of Michigan Press, 2017), and, with Nathan Carlin and Thomas Cole, she co-edited Teaching Health Humanities (Oxford University Press, forthcoming).
